Wedding Day Prep Do's & Don’ts : Photographer Edition
Planning your wedding is so exciting. And I would argue that one of the most important things is making sure your photographer is on point.
I say this because you will eat the cake, your flowers will die, and hopefully, you will never wear that stunning wedding dress again.
So what’s left?
Your love for each other. And the photos that show your dad crying as he walks you down the aisle. Your grandma dancing the night away and shows your mom maybe having one too many drinks. Most importantly, it is the photographer who captures your husband's face as he sees you walking down the aisle in that beautiful dress for the first time.
So here's my wedding do's and don'ts photographer edition
Don't Forget About Your Photographer: book a photographer a year out is a great idea but don’t book and just forget about them until a month before your wedding day. It will be like having a stranger by your side, on your wedding day.
Don't hire the cheapest photographer: Although they are more affordable, they are most likely new and won't have the experience to capture each detail on your day as beautifully as it deserves to be captured.
Don't just sign a contract: Without reading the finer details. What if you want to add an extra hour? What if you have to reschedule? What's their refund policy?
And then from my do’s
Do you build a connection: with your wedding photographer. After all, they are going to be with you for one of the biggest days of your life for the whole day.
Do provide a shot list: A shot list is a list of your “must-have” family photos. If you have kids in the wedding party. Let's get those photos before the kids get the cake on their beautiful clothes. Do you have any elderly around? If so let's grab their photos first, so they can go and sit down and enjoy a nice glass of champagne.
Do share your vendor list.
A good photographer will actually check out your vendor’s list, and go to the venue before your wedding day and scope it out make sure they know where to get all those beautiful photos.
All my best,
Michaela
